What ManiMira does

ManiMira helps you decide what to get done at the nail salon. You answer three short questions — occasion, length and mood — and ManiMira ranks six designs from its catalogue and explains why each one may suit you. You can then preview a design on a photo of your own hand.

ManiMira recommends and previews existing designs. It is not a drawing tool, and it does not generate new nail artwork.

Common questions

My photo was rejected. Why?

ManiMira checks each photo before using it and declines photos it cannot work with — usually because the image is blurry, too dark, the hand is too far away, or the fingers are overlapping. The app tells you which of these it found. Retaking the photo with your hand flat, fingers slightly spread, in even light almost always fixes it.

The check is deliberately strict. A preview built on an unusable photo would look wrong and mislead you.

The nail markers don't line up with my nails.

You position the five markers yourself, by dragging, resizing and rotating them. This is intentional: it means no detection model has to guess where your nails are, and nothing about your photo leaves your iPhone. Take your time on the first nail — the rest usually go quickly.

Will my nails look exactly like the preview?

No, and ManiMira does not claim they will. The preview is a graphical illustration to help you choose and to show your nail technician what you have in mind. Actual colour, finish, length and execution depend on the products and the person doing your nails.

The free limit resets each day. The count is stored only on your iPhone.

Does ManiMira upload my photo?

No. ManiMira contains no networking code at all. Your photo is checked and the preview is composited on your iPhone. See the privacy policy for the full detail.

How do I delete what the app has saved?

• Saved previews: open the saved item and choose Delete.
• Your preferences: reset them from the app's preferences screen.
• Everything: delete the app. iOS removes all of its local data with it.

If you exported a preview to Photos or sent it to another app, that copy belongs to that app — ManiMira cannot reach it or delete it.

Something crashed, or a design looks wrong.

Please email us. Include what you were doing at the time, your iPhone model and your iOS version. Please do not send us your hand photo — we do not want it, and we do not need it to investigate.
